How to style a fall/winter coat: 14 Style Panel tips for embracing this season’s trends while keeping warm

Dropped shoulders, hourglass figures and loose fits are just three of the characteristics of this season’s coat trend. Seeing as what’s worn on top of it all was one of the hottest trends on the international Fall 2013 runways—-from Carven’s larger than life bubble coats to Rag & Bone’s we asked our Style Panel for their essential tips to staying on-trend, while keeping warm.
New to Style Panel is Marla Brum of Trend Struck, who suggests wearing a colour rich burgundy cape coat to embrace the trend of oversized outerwear. Bonus: the extra rooms affords for more layering without looking bulky.
Vibrancy and colour is what Cara McLeay of A Fashion Love Affair opts for to combat those cold, dreary days. A jacket lit with some brightness is the perfect thing that will keep you warm and be something you won’t get bored of wearing. Meanwhile,Northern Style’s Kira Paran looks for ones that use quality material and have classic details. She’s smitten with her wool coat with toggles.
If you’re in need of an outerwear update or need advice on how to embrace the latest trend styles, look no further than these 14 tips!

How to rock multiple makeup colours at the same time: 4 bright eyed Beauty Panel tips

You’ve perused numerous Pinterest boards and clocked countless YouTube hours obsessing over beauty junkies who fearlessly rock vibrant hues all over their eyelids. Isn’t it time you stopped being timid of those lonely and unused bright eyeshadows in your makeup bag and joined in?
While the Chanel Spring 2014 look offered an inventive way to wear just about every colour in the rainbow at once, we’re dialing the trend back and approaching bright eyeshadows from an everyday point of view. From creating an ombré across your eyelid to pairing complementary shades along your bottom and top lashline, this look is all about colour theory. So grab a bold eyeshadow you’ve yet to try (may we suggest one of the brights from the Nars Guy Bourdin collection?) and read on for expert tips from the Beauty Panel.

Olympics countdown: Hudson’s Bay releases Team Canada Sochi 2014 uniforms and collection

Remember when Roots was responsible for much of the world’s Olympic clothes? Thisberet? Well, it seems as if some Canadian greatness is still rubbing off on Team USA, with its just-released Sochi 2014 uniforms. Designed by Ralph Lauren (and fully produced on American soil to put an end to last year’s controversy), the closing ceremony jacket, for one, looks quite the ever-iconic Bay stripe featured similarly on this year’s Team Canada wares. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…
But more about us, right? Hudson’s Bay released the full Team Canada Sochi 2014 uniforms and collections yesterday to much excitement. Shot on gold medal skierAlexandre Bilodeau, snowboarder Caroline Calve, hockey star Drew Doughtyand skier Kelsey Serwa, the collection features much of the typically patriotic hallmarks like the loon, the polar bear and the good old maple leaf. Also present, the slightly desperate “we can rule” bracelet that we’re sure will come in handy when we don’t touch Vancouver records. (Sorry kids, it just ain’t gonna happen).
Go Canada go! And stuf

Ariana Grande's Flirty Halloween Makeup Will Make You Rethink Your Costume! Read more: Dorothy Wizard of Oz Makeup Tutorial - Ariana Grande Makeup Artist How To - Seventeen Follow us: @seventeenmag on Twitter | seventeenmagazine on Facebook Visit us at Seventeen.com

Whether you're going with a Tin Man and Cowardly Lion or flying solo on Halloween, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz is a classically cute costume that's super easy to pull off! To update the look, channel Ariana Grande's flirty take on Dorothy and go for major red sequin heels, a strapless, gingham-free frock and, of course, amazing makeup. Melanie Mills—the artist behind the makeup on Victorious and iCarly—decided to create this gorgeous look after she started singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on set one day! Check out her step-by-step breakdown for how to recreate Ariana's pretty red lips and retro smoky eye.

1. Apply foundation all over your face, eyes, neck, and ears. It's Halloween—we're not going for a natural look!
2. Apply a bright orange cream blush to your cheeks, then lightly powder all over for a matte finish.
3. With an eye shadow brush, apply a cream-colored cream eye shadow to your lid. Add a pale apricot shadow to your crease, a touch of brown shadow to the outer crease, and blend with a shadow brush.
4. With black gel liner, create a cat eye look! Start very thin near the tear duct and get thicker at the outer corner. Connect both the upper and lower lines together, sweeping up into a dramatic wing. This will create big, bright eyes!
5. Buff the undereye liner before it sets with a clean, small eye shadow brush. This softens the edge and gives you Dorothy's wide-eyed look of wonder!
6. Line the inner lower waterline with a bone-colored eye pencil to make your eyes look even bigger.
7. Curl your lashes and apply one coat of mascara. Then, apply two sets of big, full, strip lashes and blend them into your natural lashes with more mascara.
8. Fill in your brows using an angled eyebrown brush, clear wax, and a dark brown eye shadow. Again, we're not going for a fresh-faced, natural look!
9. With a fluffy blush brush, apply a red shimmery blush to your cheeks.
10. Line and fill in your lips with an orange-red lip pencil, then top the lips off with a matching lip gloss for tons of flirty shine!
11. Optional: Apply bronze gold body makeup all over the body for a magical glow!
